Drawing Moon Knight

Moon Knight Digital Art by Daniel the Dreamer

Moon Knight, created by writer Doug Moench and artist Don Perlin, is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, with his first appearance being in “Werewolf by Night #32” in August of 1975.

His abilities include increased strength, speed, and endurance depending on the lunar cycle. Other than that, he also claims the Egyptian moon god, Khonshu, wants him to be the “moon’s knight” hence, the name Moon Knight.

It is later revealed that Moon Knight has dissociative identity disorder with some identities having manifested during his childhood while others have briefly emerged during his adulthood. It is debated in different stories whether his disorder is due to childhood trauma or if his symptoms are the result of “brain damage” caused by his psychic connection to Khonshu.

Although I have created the artwork above ahead of time, the Moon Knight Disney+ miniseries (starring Oscar Isaac & Ethan Hawke) would’ve already released its first episode by the time you see this post. It is intended to be the sixth series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe produced by Marvel Studios along with the likes of Wandavision, Loki, The Falcon & the Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, and What If?

Moon Knight might not be as well known as other Marvel superheroes such as Iron Man or Spiderman but I do hope you enjoy watching this series as you get to know more about him. I know I will!

EDIT: Below is the earlier version of the artwork that I also love!
